Zombie Apocalypse: Do's and Don'ts

Ah. I blind picked a movie and watched 'Open Grave' last week. I guess the movie itself is open to interpretation about whether it would be a 'zombie' movie or not, but it still took me down memory lane.
It had been quite a few years since I had watched any movie of the zombie kind. I had been on break from them since a decision I made when I was working overnight shifts in 2012. There had been a high number of zombie movies released up until that time and although I had not seen them all I had seen plenty and had invested quite a bit of time playing the same sort of video games. The decision itself was reached after multiple nights of blackouts where I had been on shift and the sort of proceedures that followed - go out and turn the generator on. One of the more interesting aspects of my concern about this is that I should of been worried about other things like the potentially violent persons in the immediate vicintiy, the middle of no where and no mobile range things and electronic phonelines. Yet still, the zombie in the middle of the night thing seemed to be the only thing I was concerned about. So I took a break. I was weird enough as it was.
After watching Open Grave, which was pretty decent in my opinion, and then parking in a deserted car park at the shopping centre, I have been thinking about zombies again. What do you do when you find yourself to be potentially the last one(s) standing? There's probably also some other things you shouldn't be doing too. I've thrown this list together for my own entertainment. Lets see if it tickles yours.
DON'T
Don't get bitten and don't get scratched. Scarey and/or lifechanging. Nuff said.
Don't get zombie blood in your mouth or eyes. (Apparently)
Don't stop to take a selfie or record footage of the zombies. I know images and recordings might be useful later but there will be plenty of other people doing this and getting themselves killed already so you won't need to.
Don't stop to give a zombie first aid. I think somebody tried that at the start of 'Day of the Dead'. She didn't know of course, so good luck then.
Don't deliberately inject yourself with a zombie virus. I'm not convinced zombie-like qualities really are superpowers. I'm also not sure what the benefits are of supressed memories, loss of identity and everyone wanting to kill you if you get too close.
Don't make assumptions about the zombies. I've wondered about this one. It must be hard. Do you leave your zombie bitten kids behind, shoot your mum or keep your best mate on a chain in the garden shed? I'd probably take my kids with me till they turned. Shoot a stranger and leave everyone I know roaming around if I could get away. Having said that, I guess that would mean I would assume I would also have a gun or other weapon, access to ammo and that maybe no one I cared about would ever try eat me alive. Sounds nice I'm sure. The other things is, there probably won't be as many weapons laying around as there is in those movies or videogames. That brings me to my next one...
Don't leave weapons behind because of ANYTHING. You don't want to kill. You don't know how to use it. You don't like guns. Yes ok. Take it anyway.
DO
Do get out of the densely populated areas. This one irks me even though there seem to be some great places and buildings to hold up fort and sustain life in cities. Sometimes they have nice strong doors or maybe lots of supplies and places you can beef up your transport so you can cut on through your zombie crowds. However, I couldn't help but notice how densely populated these densely populated areas are. It doesn't look like a good idea. Crowds of moaning zombies are bad enough. In addition to that, I also don't like the idea of waiting around till the city gets nuked. Disaster makes people do funny things. Maybe easier said than done..?
Do try to stay as calm and as sane as possible. Have you ever tried hiding from things that will probably eat you alive while someone else is screaming their head off? Not only will staying calm help other people to decide not to ditch you or push you over when the zombies are running after you but staying calm will also help others stay calm. Disaster makes people do funny things...
Do get someone to cover your back when you go off to 'investigate'. Or, maybe cover someone else's back so you can make sure they don't keep it a secret if they get bitten.
Do take supplies every chance you can. Food, clothes, water, medical supplies, personal care items, radios, batteries, torches and weapons. Use em or trade em if the opportunity comes. Apparently chocolate would be a good rare trade item too. You might be able to convince someone to swap their weapon for it.
Do keep your wits about you. Flimsy barracades, poor building checks for zombies, others acting funny, or maybe somebody is eating all the food or stealing things because hey, face it.... Disaster makes people do funny things....
Well that's it for now. Have a look at this other website I was looking at a few years back if you're in to that sort of thing. It's called '5 Scientific Reasons a Zombie Apocalypse Could Actually happen' at http://www.cracked.com/article_15643_5-scientific-reasons-zombie-apocalypse-could-actually-happen.html
I'm watching Jurassic World tonight, therefore watching people getting chased by dinosaurs who died a long time ago. I havent decided if I'd rather be eaten by a dinosaur or a zombie. I'm hoping to never have to choose or have someone else choose for me.
In regards to death, as it turns out, the idea of dying frightens me and I would rather not. In fact if I ever found out I was dying, I think it would kill me....
