Cheat's Guide: Kid's Super Bubble Party

In a 'previous life', among other things, I spent some time helping run a small but regular playgroup. Over the years, I had spent quite a few hours singing and clapping, cleaning, sometimes baking and engaging in children's activities. I learnt a thing or two but I also had a few simple ideas of my own.

I heard a great saying on a cartoon once: 'You gotta work smarter, not harder'. This I use as my excuse to do things as simply as possible, provided they are still done properly, that is while using the positive benefit of individuals doing things themselves.

So, here's my shortcut to super bubbles, it doesnt have to be a party.... but....

Do less and have fun. Bubbles have a little magic of their own.

Super Bubbles

Best age group 0-5

Step 1: Buy lots of bubble mix and wands or make your own bubble mix. These days bubble mix is just about as cheap as making it yourself and often wont hurt your eyes like homemade bubble mix. I absolutely recommend shop made mix on the basis that you will likely have many bubbles and home made stuff might be too strong.

Step 2: Set up lots of fans or head outside on a very windy day.

Step 3: Make the fans or the wind do all the work.

Step 4: Allow the kids to stand there 'all day' while the fans do all the work, they will already by this stage be stepping over each other to have a turn. Works best with a large group.

Step 5: Encourage the kids in ways that make them feel good that will keep them going and standing there 'all day' or chase bubbles.
