Cheats Guide: 60 second Vodka Daiquiri
It has been hot. AND I MEAN REALLY HOT. I recall spending last night blaming all my problems in the word on how hot it is and how the world would be a better place if it just cooled down a little. I was sitting at my dining table for several nights in a row staring in to my glass of water which I constantly topped up when I began thinking of my new novelty.
I had been putting flavoured iceblocks in my glass and drinking the water that been floating them. I would, at that time, drunk many a drink, had it not been a Monday night. That feeling was still there. That want for something else. Something cold. Something to take the edge off being shitty at the heat. I was thinking of the smirnoffs in the fridge when I got going on this. It was hot and the Vodka Black Ice was cold. I had to have one.... as I was still all hot and shitty.
So there's a couple of ways you can do this if you are going for speed. You can have your Daiquiri a bit icey or you can go for getting it borderline frozen it all depends on how much icey you want in there. It's at the cost of how strong or weak you want it. You change the consitency by the amount of iced product you put in.
For your next trick, you're gonna need one of those fake (or real) bullet blenders or something else that blends with a punch. Here in Australia you can get one for about $30.
60 Second Daquiri (strong and frosty)
Two 'Zooper Doopers' (1 or 2 tube water ice blocks -tastiest flavour)
Lots of Vodka (measure half of a TALL glass)
shot of lemon juice -add as desired
Blend like crazy the flavoured water ices with vodka. Add lemon to take the edge off as much or little as you find tasty. If it comes out too strong you can always split it in half and add more iceblock.... then you get two drinks! I suppose if it comes out too weak you can do the same with the vodka
30 second Daiquiri (weak)
1/2- 1 Zooper Dooper (flavoured water ice block tubes)
3/4-1 bottle of Smirnoff Black Ice or other Vodka or white rum RTD (then drink any remainder you need to get it out of the way)
You don't want to ruin the RTD by too much blending, so blend as little as possible with the iceblock till you can get it mushy then give it a second all together. It might not be 30 seconds the first time but once you know exactly how much iceblock you want in there and how much RTD it takes to mush it you will be a pro in no time. Serve in a tall glass
You can add fruit or (white)rum of course. But it's up to you. Best flavour mixes are citrus or berry.
