Reboundland

The plan had to take the kids to 'Bounce' for the next birthday party. I had been asked about it endlessly this year. I was a bit unsure what to do though when two of my kids told me they were actually going to bounce during the school holidays with a school group. I wondered if it would be a bit of a killjoy going twice, we had never been before and I didn't know if it was any good. It was tricky making the decision also because at Bounce I would have to book ahead, preferably a week, for a party and those two kids were going 2 days before day we were planning on arriving.

I decided to try something different. I recalled that a work colleague of mine, at one of the jobs I work at, had told me she used to take her kids to Rebound, so I looked it up. It looked ok and I didn't need to book. In addition to that there were also a few places around and nearby I could take the kids for lunch afterwards. So I asked the birthday boy. The decision was made. We were going to Reboundland.

We took another hire van and rounded up all the kiddie friends. They all confirmed they could come and we headed off to Elanora. It was the usual suspects. They get along well. They stick together and enjoy each others company.

When we got to Reboundland the parking was a bit tricky. I don't know if it was because it was school holidays but I sorta parked on the grass between carpark driveways. It looked ok. Inside there were lots of people, a party area if you book it like that and somewhere you can buy drinks, snacks and cafe stuff.

Reboundland is a large indoor play area full of inflatables.... I think 'inflatable fun' was how it was put. There are 16 inflatables and the centre caters for all ages. Each ticket gives you 3 hours. I thought most of them looked pretty good. The kids appeared to be having fun so it seemed to go well. There was unfortunately though a safety issue we needed addressed and I had to talk to staff as it had been a concern. I would not say it should put you off going so I have left it out here. Please note that the inflatables are staffed and although you should supervise your children there are also staff nearby and handy.

Reboundland was ok but in fair review it probably wouldn't be suitable for everyone. The ticket prices cater for all ages, including adults, but I noticed some of us were too tall or too heavy to be under the maximum weight for some of the inflatables. I also noticed there weren't exactly any adults enjoying the inflatables and they were probably also charged. There was even a 13 year old in our group who went to the battle zone (which is so cool by the way) but the bridge bent under him as he was too heavy. Reboundland might provide access and ticketing for all ages but it seems pretty clear to me that ages 5-11 are going to enjoy it the most, depending on their high and body weight. If this sounds like your group or family you are probably going to have a good time.

Anyways the kids said they had fun so all was not lost. We stuck around for an hour and a half before heading to lunch at Kirra to do the 'All-you-can-eat' Pizza Hut thing. Do you remember those days? I was as happy as pie that I had found one in a previous week and I eagerly herded all the kids in. Life felt pretty good because I was worried about how they don't take bookings but when we arrived the place was semi deserted. I have to say it was a nice way to end things.

I'mot sure if I would go again to Reboundland with a kiddie and teenager group. Once was good but I don't think I'll push it. However, I would definitely go to Kirra Pizza Hut again, it has left me with some kind of toasted garlic bread craving that hasn't gone away yet but maybe that's me being lazy or piggy. Oh well. It was good.

The next birthday party isn't till October. That one's mine. I've got plans for that one! If you don't know me so well then I guess you will have to hear what that is later. If you do know me well then you are probably already invited or have at least heard about.

Anyways. That's it for now.

Till next time.
