Fall in love me before the last petal falls for when the flowers dies I will remain a beast forever.
I remember reading about this fairy tale when I was a kid. Sure Disney did their own version but the original tale dates way back to 1740 so I guess quite a few people have had a go at this one over the years.
In the version I read as a kid, whichever one it was, the pictures that accompanied it showed a an angry looking beast worth avoiding whose company was 'difficult to enjoy'. Traditionally the story is at least a little more darker than than the disney version you might recall a little easier which had all kinds of 'maybe this isn't so bad' sort of themes and a pretty happy ending.
The gist of the story is commonly that the beast used to be a prince who was a a bit of a jerk. He made a mistake but gets taught a very long lesson by being turned in to a beast. He meets a gal by her own fathers misfortune and they then begin to get to know each other over time. He wants to marry her but ...well.... she uh... only loves him as a friend....
Anyways.....
Depending on which version you read or saw, after some misfortune she realises she does love him and he magically transforms back to his former self. Apparently the love of a good lady can change you.
There you go.
It's just a fairy tale though. In real life the impacts of isolation can go either way. The beast can become a pretty nasty piece of work..... ripping the heads off others and that sort of thing. In real life timing isn't usually very good either. The last petal usually falls and that's it. You just get to be some kind of monster and people might only ever see a beast when they look at you.... or you give the beast some time and he doesn't change much.
I'm not shallow or nothing but I've had some degree of difficulty falling in love with monsters... and I've met a few. Trust me on this one. Sometimes nothing can change a monster. They usually are prone to the ripping off of heads and can be bad company. Dinner and dancing then becomes a charade. I can't help but wonder how this story would play out in real life......
Well..... I think, maybe we should at least just live life and be good to each other for a start. I'm just saying. Beast or no beast. Beauty or not. At least you might be surrounded by positive people and life will be more enjoyable. Stay away from the psychopaths and ....
Y'see... the thing is ....I got a funny feeling that when that last petal falls. We might just die too.
So love like you mean it. Live it like it counts. Come back from being a beast or give up them, lest you live in solitary and become the beast forever.
